My new favourite thing: Livebinders.com

This is so cool and its free - Livebinders.com is a tool that allows you to create an online 3 ring binder online which you can use to organize your online resources…

I’ve seen examples shared on twitter and have started following @livebinders there - but while searching for materials for a course project I remembered I had saved a few of them as examples - then I started to look through what was available on the livebinders site that folks were sharing… and was AMAZED :) (I feel like I’m a selling snuggies here :)

Some that caught my eye were:

They have binders on everything from Animals to Travel with lots in between - Livebinders themselves are on twitter, facebook and have their own blog… the binders are created from teachers, educators etc., from around the world…

I think its a very cool way to organize learning units and/or modules and make them available for your students, peers and/or others to use…

They do have a rating and review process and the information is available to share through a link.

Anyways… just thought I’d share - taking the notion of the traditional binder and making it portable, editable and shareable… is very cool.

About Me and My Blog

I have worked a long time in post-secondary education and all of it has taken place at Sir Sandford Fleming College. My role for the past 12 years has primarily been part of course and program design teams to develop blended/online learning opportunities for full and part-time learners as a learning technology specialist (the postion has evolved over the years from web production technologist, elearning technologist to learning technology specialist).

I facilitate workshops, informal learning sessions, and answer any question that is directed my way :)

I am currently completing my Bachelor's of Adult Education at the University of Brock (one credit to complete).

I'm also a very proud mother and wife. My family are my barometer and the means by which I measure my balance.
